He was awarded the DAAD PhD fellowship at the University of Leipzig, Germany and ERASMUS MUNDUS Fellowship for Post-Doc at the University of Warsaw, Poland. He is also winner of Swiss Excellence Scholarship 2014-2015. Currently, he is Professor of Sociology and teaching at the School of Sociology, Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad. Dr Zaman is author of two books: Exchange Marriages in South Punjab, Pakistan: A Sociological Analysis of Kinship Structure, Agency, and Symbolic Culture and Youth Politics in Pakistan: Civic Engagement and Opportunity Structure (in press). Beside this, he published 40 research articles in international peer review journals (including impact factor journal). His areas of interests are interdisciplinary including sociology of family youth, childhood, family and marriage. Dr Zaman was listed among top 2% scientists in 2020. He and his team won the Grand Challenge Fund of Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan on Road Safety. Beside this, he is commentator on social issues at national and international media.
